Plea to SA Liberals to act immediately – an open letter to be published in media

Politicians lack of imagination and/or are disabled to act by the way the system is setup. Politicians live in a fantasy world. If it is written on their documents or is on their minds they treat as reality. Reality of life they treat as an illusion and nonsense. So often politician say that his will is a L A W. When you as a citizen say that such an such car hit you, official say: he believes that ….

Is it my opinion? Yes it is but it is an opinion of so many people and you better listen to radio to hear that people refer to politicians as living out of touch (with reality). Take note that if you continue to play this game, you only confirming this as hard fact.

From my perspective there is hardly anything working properly in SA and in Australia. That we got used to corruption and dysfunctional system does not mean it is right.

The little story limited to 1k characters intends to show the big circus called a government.

“Imagine a plumber visiting you when one choose, deciding the job to do or not to do, praising own job, deciding how much to charge you for that and interpreting your complaints as an outstanding job. You can price one’s job but can’t criticise in his presence or you face to be prosecuted. You see a great waste, that your plumber who is your dedicated servant, is corrupt and wasteful. One buys the most expensive, inferior quality material and perform the unacceptable quality job and give no guarantee. It’s a professional plumber straight from a law school who spend more than 90% of his time in managing your finances.

How you got this serving you plumber? You got information that you will be served by your dedicated plumber, and you have to choose one’s personality and credentials by ticking one of number of boxes. No matter which box you tick, you get same plumber. You, not him take all the consequences of his decisions. You can’t report to police, which is employed by plumber.”

Now SA liberals talk about anti-corruption thing. In honesty I see Isobel on even worse position than Julia who just lost. I rang Isobel just days before she got top position, with an issue the government is unable and unwilling to solve. She rather than admitting that she has no solution, she become aggressive and dropped phone. I have to make clear, no problem unsolved will solve itself. It will grow.

I see that system is not set up to be efficient. Before I give suggestion of how to solve it easily, let me mention some of the issues I will press to be solved.

10. social relations (neighbours etc).

Today I want to take only one aspect of road safety – reporting to authorities the dangerous driving incidents or observations.

Road safety

I am a long term road safety campaigner and experienced a total a 100%, (a hundred percent) ignorance. About all regarding road safety is wrong. Corrupt police refuse to accept the reports of dangerous drivers on the road. The more police officer declare of his on road experience the less one understand road safety. With a few exceptions most officers have very poor knowledge of road rules and even less understanding of safety issues. No one have any clue of how bad the drivers on Adelaide roads are. As most citizens I assumed that “authority” knows best, and when I observed and gave feedback to “experienced” officers, I could not agree with their claims. I demanded hard facts. Police had no figures, Transport department no figures, neither of two ministers have figures, Adelaide Uni road safety team has the research papers but no figures, nor any Australian University nor college on road safety. What they have is huge corruption fuelling support of their positions and lots of anger towards anyone who question them. And surely they offended me as well as assaulted. I then thought that it must be hard and expensive to get real road data. I just thought for a few minutes of how I could get such research and it poped up in my mind. I tried and got very accurate results. I made a few tests and got a few tests with a figures which confirm the driving habits on our roads. I knew that drivers are bad but did not know how bad and how many. Now as I know, the government refuse to acknowledge my research and method and decide to continue to act on the product of their imagination rather than or facts and continue to expose innocent drivers in grave danger and cause injuries. Government continue to waste public money for research which produce meaningless papers. Those papers are not even suitable for toilet.

In such light, it does not matter of how drivers behave, it is all government fault. Until government sets up a proper that is professional and sensible system, I will treat that government has a policy to harm innocent people on the roads.

Ok, I long time ago thought that perhaps 1% of all drivers is at fault. It is one in a hundred or less. Such is talk of officials (the odd driver…). Liberal politicians, 1% would be quite high number because when you go to city from a suburb you are likely to meet say a 1000 cars and 10 of them could kill you or injure. What would you say if someone said that the figure is higher, like 10%? would you be alarmed? My figures show that testing just one aspect of dangerous driving tailgating, the rate is between 55 to close to a 100% of drivers. Here you have nothing to say but accept or conduct your own research. Much more sensible it is to acknowledge my work, publish it, act upon and develop it further for our benefit and be proud of the fact that SA man got first in Australia or perhaps in the world real life research on tailgating.

How is it possible that so many drivers drive dangerously? It is police corruption, it is absolute lack of safety management in favour of revenue raising and wrong system setup in area of road safety.

Specifically there is virtually no driver training. The drunken uncle is not acceptable driving instructor, nor anything we have at present. As number of radio listeners say: the proper driving course at college level for a number of months is what we need.

I agree entirely with those listeners. Politicians on the other hand reject it as fantasy. I have actually developed a system I call it a,b,c licensing. This system solves so many current problems in one go. It was thought to solve them or prevent.

Road rules were never meant to be known to all drivers by heart. They were and are developed to raise revenue or an extra taxes not to serve society in ensuring safety and free traffic flow. I do not expect any politician to know all the road rules by heart. Most police officers do not know them. Why it is corrupt and unfair and even criminal? You do know need to even check how many road rules know my next door senile neighbours and your neighbours. Are 16 year old drivers any different?

It is not a comprehensive analysis of road rules, it is just an outline. Road rules are not designed for all drivers, they are illogical and allow conflict situations, and they promote dangerous driving.

Legal industry is not an answer as in their best interest is not to solve but maintain social problems. Tried and tested over and over, it is all wrong.

Gambling industry cannot be a solution. Insurance cannot be used by government as solution. It is up to individuals to insure or not but it is not an excuse for government mismanagement. In case of crash, it is government to analyse and make steps to ensure it is unlikely such situation will not reoccur. I mean if a negligent driver hit a cyclist, one will do same unless government send one to a course to upgrade skills, send to mental specialist or any other measure which was a factor in crash. This is management but referring the matter for gambling industry to fix is childish.

More efficient government-society communication management is suggested below. It is a message I’ve sent to SA liberals not long ago.

Since there is no direct email contact to the liberal team, I send my idea to you so you can take it and discuss with the team.

It is my novel idea to improve government accountability, save administrative cost and resources, improve information flow between government and society.

Before the proposition let me bring a few situations they ask for such innovation.

The elderly neighbour living alone, is semi insane and dangerous to himself and trouble to neighbour. One unnecessarily make problems and no one can help one. There is no one you as neighbour can call and inform and one will be able to make a rational decision to help an elderly and improve the relations around.

A long weekend or a holiday and the poor dog is left alone and is barking for 3 days. It is cruelty and it is horrible stress to all neighbours around. Council cannot afford a person to sit and wait for your complaint about the dog.

A water is leaking from the water meter and the elderly tenant or owner is barely alive, and one is not aware nor interested. It does not mean he can waste water or his money. Where to ring?

You are looking for a minister or an official to solve xyz problem and you have no clue where to find, the minister you thought, also has no clue who in government does those things and you are being referred and referred and referred until you give up.

I propose to establish in all capital cities and larger cities the one central information office open 24/7/365 and run by society and not government. The money would be provided from public purse and government would have no say on say cut funds. It is public office.

All forms of accepting message be allowed. People can simply pay a visit, may send a post mail, can telephone, can send an email and so on.
The receptionist would note all the information given including identity and address and all relevant information. Then the receptionist would file it and allocate the problem to relevant office, ministry and so on.
If it is a complaint or a question or suggestion, than the relevant minister or officer would pass the information back to the centre that the job was done or send an information or answer. The receptionist at the centre would note that and inform about it the citizen who initiated the move.

Say someone would report a pot hole on the road. Everybody would have an access to information and see how efficient or inefficient the council or state is. Same with barking dog, and any other issue.
This way, staff of Isobel would not be engaged in trying to find who is responsible for what and take time of other ministers but would just do the job given by the centre. Centre would know or will find on behalf of citizens. This does mean  a savings and improved productivity as well as accountability.

Regarding my elderly neighbour who is deaf and semi insane and make so many problems to me and himself. At present I have no one sane to contact in case he need help or take a rational decision on his behalf. By calling the centre, they would find an attorney or whoever including family member to address the issue. Otherwise he can kill himself, set house on fire (I already extinguished him once) and so on. I also do not want to see on tv that …. I am seeking for solution and there is none. Isobel is mad when I ring her because she has no answer. Let the centre take my call, note it and find someone, shall it be a psychiatrist, council provided care person or whoever sane and having power to act.

Any problems like  the hoon activity pattern, graffiti pattern and many other issues would be noted. Police, ministry, journalists and citizens would have an access to the data to analyze and scrutinize.
Surely I should not be able to have an access to the address of the barking dog offender but should be able to identify one by code and observe that a particular council fail to respond to same dog or same whatever problem.

This would be reasonably good indicator of government efficiency or inefficiency. Same as at work. You have to have a  record of your work, so should have the government.
If you the liberal are genuine you have nothing to fear, just introduce this.
Service would accept all types of information and then decide what to do with it. In case of prank calls, the response would be similar to prank calls to 000 emergency. Also if someone would habitually make calls and everytime it would be imaginary, it would be found eventually that it is a schizophrenic. No it is not drawback, because it is easier to detect such a case by the centre than if same person rang all the ministers in turn.
With such system in place, it would be less likely for ministers of officers to ignore the case becasue it would be recorded in file and be held independently from them. A good tool to prevent corruption.

Perhaps Liberals can set up a temporary website to take reports on road safety where people could place reports. Existing system is absolutely dysfunctional.

This webalbum shows just two days worth driving experience only selected incidents. The mentioned drivers are dangerous but almost all drivers drive dangerously and seemingly without any knowledge of that. The most persistent tailgators are ladies. It is not because female gender is any more aggressive than of male, but because we do not have proper driver training nor policing and people drive according to the driving culture which is also promoted by police and government. It is a revenue raising exercise. Bad drivers do cause crashes and pay fines. Some photos show that many drivers drive in “trains” and have no clue that it is wrong. This should raise an alarm and take an urgent action to improve the situation.

Government ignoring a road safety campaigner already proves to be extremely irresponsible.

Grey Ford fiesta was tailgating badly and cutting in front without adequate indication.

Red Magna on couple of photos driven by young male, was speeding, tailgating badly and changing lanes without adequate indication. In general very rapid manouvering and dangerous.

Red brown commodore was also speeding, tailgating and changing lanes in dangerous manner.

Red hyunday excel was everywere in one time. All in dangerous manner including tailgating.

White older fashion van was speeding and tailgating in sense of bullying people who did already touch over the limit. Another car Mazda behind sensed the madness and tailgated the tailgator.

Honda driver also drove as maniac. Speeding tailgating and changing lanes without any care, no indication etc.

White commodore sw was also bad tailgating.

White falcon ute was also bullying me (tailgating) for no reason and after a long time of doing so, discovered that left lane is absolutely free. He did it as the other cars demonstrated that it is lane for driving.

White 4wd toyota with two motorbikes on trailer at Noarlunga was bullying me on 80 zone for a considerable distance and just before his destination petrol station he used a brute power of his huge car, overtook me, cut in front very close and used strong breaks immediately. Idiot is a soft word for his behaviour. He forced me to break to avoid collision with him. Lots of drivers do that because we have corruption and they know they will not loose licence for that. In my opinion one should loose licence for good and regain only after a proper mental check and proper driving course.

Black 4wd was tailgating me persistently for a long distance disallowing me to develop a faster speed. He was an outstanding in a group of other cars which he held back.

Mitsubishi 4wd also tailgated and then cut badly in front.

Big 4 wd ute was also tailgating and changing lanes in dangerous manner.

Young man on motorbike as expected was speeding 80 kmh in 60 zone on Prospect rd and surely tailgating and changing lanes without any adherence to safety rules.
